Deep North | Great Barrier Reef Spearfishing Charter | Noob Spearo x MBP

$7,200.00

Nine days aboard the Norkat II, steaming deep into the remote Great Barrier Reef out of Cairns – spearfishing, hunting bucket-list species and swapping yarns with mates on the water. 13-21 March 2027, ten spots only.

Two in-water guides – Matt Parker and Shrek – dive with you the entire trip, showing you the best spots, burleying, flashing and coaching on the fly. Deckhands handle the tenders and the fish prep, so you’re free to dive every single session.

Expect trophy species most spearos only dream of – dogtooth tuna, wahoo, coral trout, red emperor, and the properly hard-earned stuff like Maori sea perch and buffalo emperor. Cameras roll throughout, so you’ll feature in Noob Spearo content from the trip too.

Spots are strictly limited to ten guests. Lock yours in with a $2,500 deposit (total trip cost $7,200, payment plans available).

Deep North | Great Barrier Reef Spearfishing Charter | Noob Spearo x MBP

13–21 March 2027 | Norkat II | Departing Cairns | 10 spots only

The Great Barrier Reef is the best reef spearfishing Australia has to offer — more species than you can poke a stick at. Quite literally, in this case.

We've teamed up with Matt Parker (@mbp_spearfishing) to run a proper 9-day liveaboard charter out to the remote parts of the GBR. You get two in-water guides — Matt and Shrek both diving with you the whole trip, showing you spots, burleying, flashing and giving your feedback.
We'll also be filming out there (action cams), so you'll feature in a Noob Spearo video and podcast. Expect plenty of yarns, good vibes and on-the-spot coaching between sessions.

Ten guests. One boat. Unlimited diving.

In Detail | The March 2027 Charter

We head straight out deep into the remote parts of the Great Barrier Reef on the day of departure, steaming overnight so you wake up to crystal clear water overflowing with life.

The GBR holds all the best-tasting and most elusive species every spearo has on the bucket list — from dogtooth tuna and wahoo through to the humble coral trout and red emperor. Then there's the properly hard-earned stuff: Maori sea perch, buffalo emperor, yellow lip emperor and mu.

All you've got to do is suit up, hunt, and chill out. We take care of the rest. The deckhands will fillet, vacuum bag and freeze all your fish, so you can get the most out of your holiday — crack a cold one and enjoy the time with your mates.

No taking turns as boaty.
The deckhands drive the tenders, so you're free to dive every single session you want to.

Matt and Shrek are both in the water with you for the whole week. They'll show you the best spots and share in the hard yakka — burleying, flashing, setting you up for the shot. Two guides across ten guests means far more eyes on you, more coaching, and more chances to have someone right there when it counts. Ask them anything: hunting techniques, gear, reading country, whatever comes up out there.

Both of us will have cameras running for the week, shooting content for Noob Spearo and MBP. If you'd rather stay off camera that's completely fine — just let us know on day one.

Want to fish? Bring your gear. Plenty of guys fish of a night, and if you want to sit a session out you can jump on the tender with a deckhand and wet a line while everyone else dives.

We follow QLD rec fishing guidelines on all charters.

The only thing left for you to do is aim and pull the trigger. How good's that!

Gyotaku Prints

Eternalise your trophy catch with a custom Gyotaku art piece by Scott from @inkyfins. All catch is stored frozen, which is perfect for the print to turn out nicely — and the ink is edible, so if you're around Cairns you can cook the fish up for dinner once the art process is done.
